My First Poor Experience on Directory Submitting

By Alan Chimes
I decided to submit my website to many directories in order to promote it. I have to say I was a newbie to directory submitting. In another word, I did know nothing about it and never submit my website to the directories before.

I had to do some search about what directory submitting is, what benefit it can bring to my website and how to do it. There is no any statistic or analytic result to show that directory submitting can bring great traffic for one website since most people do search just via Google, Yahoo or MSN. My thought was very simple, I didn't need traffic, I just want to build more backlinks though directory submitting and enhance page rank value to my website.

Google "directory submit", there are many directory submitter tools and none of them are free. I would like not to advertise any tool here whether it's excellent or bad. I also couldn't give a review to all these submitter tools because I didn't try them all. Some declare that they can submit to millions of directories, don't believe it and please go away.

There are two kinds of submitter tools: semi-automatic ones and automatic ones. With the semi-automatic submitter, you can fill all information of your website one time and submit them one by one to the directories which have been collected in their database. While with the automatic ones, you need to do only one time both information filling and submitting. Certainly, the original way is to submitting your website to the directories manually by registering to each directory site. Most people would like to do it one time to save their time, it's same to me. So I decided to get an automatic submitter after a large number of search. Lastly I purchased one at $200.

It's time to begin directory submitting now. There were some information about the website needed to be filled firstly. It is a web software site, so I set the "Site Type" to be "Commercial" and the "Category" to be "Internet/Software", and other information such as website description, keywords, contact information, etc. After all these things had been done, I couldn't wait another second to click submit button.

The submitted result made my heart to be cold. Only 32 directories were available to my website and 6 ones were failed. The left ones were pending and several ones returned me the emails to confirm it. There were more directories left which needed to be submitted manually for my website. So this was my first experience on directory submitting!

To a newbie, it always needs to pay some cost to make progress. I would like to suggest that newbie had better to learn more about it and do some submitting manually by yourself before apply a submitter tool. Please do not put your decision on some exaggerations about it.

Time to Fix the Leak in Your Business

By Janice Jenkins
Often, the most significant factor that increases your chances of failing in your online printing business is the leaks within. It is like having a bucket filled to the brim with water. But after a while, you find out that the level is gradually sinking and every time you add water to it, it gets lower and lower. No matter where you look at it, there are no holes in your bucket. What happened is that your bucket has leaks.

Just like in business, your online printing business would have the same situation if you do not fix your leaks right away. Even if you add more budget and resources to it, it will slowly dwindle away and what you will be left with is an empty bucket.

The way to fix your leaks is with these three techniques:

Check your source.

Sometimes the source of the leak comes not from the bucket but from the water source itself. It either dries up or evaporates. This means that these sources will not help you produce a consistent result that you expect to have for a long time. You are only wasting your resources and money on something that will not yield that much to help you sustain your print online business for a very long time. These are what we call short-term profits that either dry up or evaporate eventually.

To fix this particular problem, you need to look into ideas and strategies that are proven to make money. You might want to add a unique twist to these proven ideas but be sure to stick to their basic principles so you do not alter the results.

If it is the bucket, consider using the right one.

This means getting a bucket that can be used for the long haul. Do not use a bucket that can easily have holes, thus, have leaks with overuse. You will definitely need a much stronger and stable bucket if you plan to be in the online printing business for a very long time. Develop plans and strategies that you know can consistently provide you with great results. And be sure to have a profit plan that can work over a long period of time.

Finally, check and maintain your bucket regularly. Although you might have the right and strongest bucket, you never know what conditions and elements can cause problems to it. There are conditions that are just outside your capacity to do anything about it. All you need to do then is to fix things and try to maintain your bucket so it would not easily be damaged by elements that you do not have any control of. Regularly check your water source and inspect your bucket for leaks or holes. Make sure that your long term plan for your print online business is consistent with your expected outcome.

Landing Page Optimization - More Profitable Than Chasing Web Traffic

By Tony Simpson
We show how you can make far more money by carrying out effective landing page optimization than you will through chasing after more web site visitors with paid advertising or SEO.

If you run a website to make a profit you don't need me to tell you how critical it can be to get enough visitor traffic looking for what you have to offer. You may well be spending a lot of time and/or money on getting more traffic through SEO or PPC.

But, do you spend as much time and money getting more from existing web site visitors as you do in getting more traffic ?

I am confident that for most web site operators the answer would be NO !

Getting ever more visitor traffic to a web site has for many site operators become an all consuming obsession that underpins almost everything they do. Whether its SEO or free and paid advertising, the focus is all about increasing site traffic.

If you increase visitor traffic to your site through search engine optimization by paying for SEO services or by doing it yourself, the time you spend developing your site, still costs money. Your time is not free as any accountant will tell you.

Let me try to illustrate the point with a simple example. Assume by spending 20 hours a month you get 1,000 extra visitors to your site and you value your time at $1,000.

Or let's assume you use Pay Per Click (PPC) to drive 1,000 more visitors per month to your site costing $1 per click, which would cost $1,000 per month.

If 2 out of every 100 visitors sent to a landing page buy a $100 product those 1,000 visitors would provide 20 more orders worth $2,000. After subtracting advertising costs of $1,000 the net gain from PPC visitor traffic is $1,000 for the month, or $3,000 over three months.

Rather than marketing the site through SEO or buying traffic using PPC lets assume the equivalent amount of $1,000 per month is spent on landing page optimization spread over 3 months.

From the existing website traffic, assume 1,000 visitors are presented with an optimized landing page that converts 5 in every 100 visitors into buyers. Those 1,000 visitors would produce 50 orders, or 30 more orders per month than generated going to the existing un-optimized landing page.

Those 30 extra orders, worth $3,000 would give a net gain of $3,000 - $1,000 or $2,000 per month after deducting the cost of landing page optimization. Over 3 months the return on investment or ROI would be $6,000.

Compare the $6,000 gained from landing page optimization with the $3,000 gained from paid visitor traffic over the same 3 months and the gain is an extra $3,000 more than from just traffic promotion.

So, landing page optimization clearly produces the better return on investment and more profit.

Of course one might argue with different numbers the results for landing page optimization would be different, or that these figures have been specially selected to prove a point. Yes they were chosen to prove a point, but there is nothing special about these figures.

Another great bonus to landing page optimization is that you DON'T pay for it month in, month out, like many forms of traffic promotion. Once the optimization is done you continue to reap the extra profit month after month at no extra cost.

Consider Art in Your Collaterals

By Charen Smith
Art is an element in any marketing campaign that many business owners use to create even cheap booklet printing into a more effective ad. Whether you're a small business enterprise or a Fortune 500 production, the fact is that art makes your marketing campaign, be it printing booklets or flyer printing or even sticker printing more attractive and appealing to your target market.

Many businesses know that. Expert marketers will tell you the same thing. Art in your marketing collateral such as printing booklets provides your target clients with the means to give you a positive impression. Art helps your ad to create a greater impact that will appeal to your target clients' fancy. Including art in your ad is significant in attracting the right response to your campaign.

So if you're ready to add elegance and pizazz to your marketing collateral such as your cheap booklet printing, this is the time to include art in your collateral's design. You may either choose to hire a professional and skilled artist to do the job or you can create one for your business with the help of an online printing website.

For a more classy and vintage look, you can choose works by artists of the contemporary era. Just be sure to choose an artwork that will make your target clients pick up your collateral even if they don't have a need for your products and services at the moment. They will surely be reminded of you when the time comes that they would be needing your business in the future.

Nevertheless, be sure to remember never to put too much when printing booklets for example. There is such a thing as too much too many. It will only make your ad look cluttered and even distract your prospect from the true essence of your message. The key is to select one that would emphasize and draw your readers' attention to your message. If your artwork can do that then indeed you have found the right one for your marketing collateral.

The bottom line is to include your artwork so that you're able to achieve the results you expect from your marketing collateral. This means using your graphic image to add and not to lessen the impact of your message. If your artwork takes away the limelight from your message then it's not worth the hassle of putting it in your ad. Always remember that your art is there only to add appeal to your ad; and not to distract your readers from the most important element which is your message.

Mini Sites? How About Marketing Profit Machines?

By Tamas Gloetzer
One of the hottest trends in the online marketing world is the use of mini sites. If you've spent any amount of time on the internet, you have undoubtedly ran across a few of them. What exactly are mini sites and how can you use them to your advantage?

Mini sites are 1-3 page websites that are put up in order to sell a product. They usually have one long front page and maybe a couple small support or info pages. People will usually make the first page a sales letter. If you've ever seen a Clickbank product, this is undoubtedly the format of the website that you saw.

Mini sites are usually very simple. The main focus of the page is the text that is written. On a sales letter, you want the potential customers to read the letter and stick to the point. You won't find a lot of revolutionary website graphics or special features. Some of them have a short video or audio, but other than that it's pretty plain. You'll probably see a few pictures of people for testimonials and a picture of the product, but other than that, not much else.

Site owners love mini sites for a few reasons. First of all, finding a great deal on hosting for one or two pages is easy. You don't have a lot of money invested in your site upkeep. You just build it and put it up and start collecting the checks.

Another reason that many people love these mini sites is because they are simple to put up. You can learn some basic HTML or use a simplified website builder to put them up. You don't have to be a genius or a computer freak to put one together.

The most important thing about mini sites is that they allow you to create multiple sources of income. Many wealthy people will attest to the fact that this is the best way to become rich. Once you put up a mini site, you will generate sales from the site. It does the work for you and you can set it up where you just get paid from that point forward. After you've set up one mini site, you can just move on to the next one. Before long you've got an entire empire of mini sites.

Even if the mini sites only brought in a few dollars per day, if you get 100 mini sites set up, we're talking about some serious cash. Think about not having to lift a finger but you still get paid every day from your army of mini sites. That is a pretty intriguing thought to say the least.

Do not be confused by thinking that you need to make a full-blown content site to be effective. Content sites are valuable as well, but they are the exact opposite of a mini site. You aren't trying to make a 100 page website with lots of multimedia content here. You are just cranking out a short little website that is designed to sell a product.

Overall, mini sites are a great way to make some extra money. If you do it well enough and remain consistent, you could turn it into a full-time income. The opportunities with mini sites are virtually endless. They are only limited by your imagination and your work ethic.

Tell-A-Friend Marketing Mistakes - 3 to Avoid

By Tyson Faulkner
Tell-a-Friend marketing is a great way to increase your website's traffic, but only if you do it right. As I browse through different sites, I see a lot of marketers making mistakes when trying to use Tell-a-Friend scripts to market their businesses. When you're setting up your next Tell-a-Friend marketing system, avoid making these common mistakes.

Tell-a-Friend Mistake #1 - Not being intentional.

So many business owners just toss up a Tell-a-Friend script on their site somewhere thinking that it will bring them lots of traffic. The truth is, this hardly works at all. Most of your visitors won't even see that link that says, "Tell your friends about us." And the ones that do see it, probably won't use it.

To fix this you have to send your visitors to your Tell-a-Friend page intentionally. One way to do this is to direct them right to it after they opt-in to your newsletter. This will put it right in front of them, giving them the option to tell their friends right when they hit it.

Tell-a-Friend Mistake #2 - Not giving to get.

After you have your visitors on your Tell-a-Friend page, what is going to motivate them to tell their friends and colleagues about your business? If you have ridiculously good content that might do it. But maybe not. The best way to get your visitors to tell everyone they know about you is to offer them an incentive to do so. This way they will feel rewarded for doing you a favor, and not just taken advantage of.

Tell-a-Friend Mistake #3 - Trapping your visitors.

This is one of the biggest mistakes that you can make in your Tell-a-Friend marketing system. Even when you deliberately put your Tell-a-Friend page in front of your visitors and then offer them an incentive to tell their friends about you, some of them still don't want to tell anyone. Reasons for this may vary, but that's just the way it is.

If you don't give your visitors a way to continue to the next page without telling their friends, they will feel trapped and abused. You don't want to force anything on your future customers! Always give them a link at the bottom of your Tell-a-Friend page where they can skip it without telling their friends. This will do a lot for you and your reputation in the long run.

So when setting up your Tell-a-Friend marketing system, be sure to avoid these common mistakes, and you will have much greater success with your marketing. If you want to learn more about setting up and using a Tell-a-Friend system in your marketing, just follow the link below.

Information Marketing to Bolster Client Relationships

By: Janice Jenkins
An expert salesperson and marketer understand that in order for a business to get far in selling their products and services, they need to do more than sell. Business owners need to offer more than their products and services to their target clients.

This means that more than your sales pitch in your marketing campaigns such as your catalog printing or even cheap catalog printing, your offer should be more than a recommendation of your services. More than that - your print catalogs for one should be able to offer valuable information.

This is the essence of information marketing - selling your products and services by providing information in your catalog printing that is valuable to your target clients. It is demonstrating your expertise and knowledge in your chosen field so that your target clients would feel comfortable having a relationship with your company and purchasing from your cheap catalog printing collateral.

Consumers in general look for more than an offer from marketing ads. Hence, if you intend to make an offer, be sure to complement it with information that will let your target clients know something about you and the kind of service you provide. A little detail or more about you and whether you are a credible source of solution to their needs can go a long way in making them comfortable with your company.

Providing valuable detail in your copy then is a significant opportunity for you to present yourself to your target clients. Whether you have a standalone catalog printing or a color poster printing that is part of an overall marketing campaign, having useful information in your collaterals can help you build a stronger and solid relationship with your current clients. Not to mention that you are also generating new customers into your business.

Offering helpful information and tools can set you in an expert position that can help your target clients to decide favorably on your offer. More than your sales pitch, your offer of information can go a long way in cementing business relationships as well as create new ones that can last far longer than that of your competition.

The bottom line is to present yourself as a credible source of expertise and knowledge that can give solutions to your clients' needs. When you do make yourself known as a reliable business, you are more than likely to attract repeat business from your loyal clients, as well as additional customers that truly believe in what you can do.***
