Use Link Building to Market Your Web Site and Gain Popularity on the Internet

By Arnold Aranez
As many small business owners know, marketing and advertising can be two of the most difficult and expensive tasks associated with having an online business. It seems as though no matter what kind of strategy you try, it is hard to see the results that you want. You are probably thinking that no strategy works and want to give up. There are some marketing plans that do work and can work for you. When it comes to SEO results, you need to have a few things in place.

Creating Quality Content
One thing you need to have established is good content on your website. You can use quality articles that are rich in SEO content to boost your way up on the rankings with search engines. Next, you need to do what is called link building. Link building is an inexpensive way to market your website and can be easy to do once you find out how to use it effectively.

Link Quality
You can find ways to add more links to your website on host sites and search engines. There are some things to keep in mind however. You want to make sure that the site that you are going to add your link to is trusted and a popular or well used website that gets a lot of traffic. You also want to make sure that the other website relates to the content on your site. Not only can you get targeted traffic to your website through link building, but you can also gain more business if you have quality content on your site.

Quality Websites
What visitors see when they first click on the link to your website is what will either impress them or send them away. If you have plenty of quality SEO articles that are directly linked to the links that you post, you will probably see that people will be impressed and more likely to stay on your website to do business. Advertising and marketing a small business on the Internet can be challenging, but if you take the time and use the right marketing strategies, you too can find success. If you are unsure about how to get started, consult with other website owners or professionals that can help you get on your way to success.

How to Seek Sites to Reciprocate Links With

By Helena Zwarts
Good link building is a fine intricate line weaving through the internet. We all know that linking to sites that compliments yours are a sure way to get a better ranking with the search engines. Here is another innovative way of finding good links. But first let's put some guidelines down for good linking etiquette.

Before asking for links make sure that you:

1. Have a link ready before asking for linking back to you.
2. Supply the location of the reciprocal link
3. Make it easy for them. Give the link text to use - you can even supply it in html so it is just for copy and paste
4. They have a links page
5. Supply all necessary information to make it easy for them to link to you.

How to get link partners.

1. Search the major search engines with your target keywords.
2. Visit those pages that came up.
3. Make sure these sites compliment yours.
4. Look for sites that are not in strong competition with you.
5. Ask the site owners if they are interested in linking to you.

Why is this system good?

1. You found these sites through keywords via the search engines.
2. The search engines are telling you that these sites are good because they rank well.
3. Links to these pages are important to you because of the relevance of keywords.

How to ask for a link

1. If possible try contacting people by voice instead of email
2. People are more inclined to respond to your request when you spoke on phone
3. Ask permission to link
4. You might state that a link back is not required but would be appreciated
5. If you have permission, link to them and confirm the linking by email.
6. A warm personal phone call goes a lot further than simply an email.

By using this strategy you are linking to sites in your niche and your links will be high quality links. There are lots of other ways and you need to use your imagination.

I'm always game to link to other sites providing that we are complementary to each other...

Link Building - Tips Everyone Can Use

By Sameep Shah
One of the keys to a strong and successful Web site or blog is attracting the right audience. Some people find this easy to do through paid advertising, but not everyone has the capabilities to acquire powerful advertising. Instead, people can rely on link building to expand their site's viewership. This may be difficult for beginners, simply because they don't know where to begin, but if it is researched well, it can be done by anyone with great results. Some link building tactics are easier to use than others, but there are some creative ways to build links today.

The first thing you need to know about link building even before you start is to know your audience and create links accordingly. Think of link building in the terms of advertising. You wouldn't advertise for children's toys during a show only adults will watch. It wouldn't make sense business wise. Accordingly, you shouldn't link your site to a site that has nothing in common with your own. Having your links be user-friendly will increase the chances of people actually linking to your site. On the same note, you shouldn't accept links from other sites that don't fit in with your site's content.

Another way you can increase your link building is simply by asking people. Contact Webmasters of similar, but not competing, sites and ask them if they can link your site at the bottom. If you take this route, make sure you aren't asking a competing Web site because the obvious answer will be no. Have the option of linking back available to them as a courtesy. They are more likely to agree if they can link on your site as well. Before you contact them, make sure you have a link ready. Most importantly, but often overlooked, is to make sure the site even has a links page.

A good tip for link building when you are approaching potential link sites is to be personal. Don't send out a massive e-mail asking several sites for a link. Send an e-mail to each site, or better yet, call the person and actually speak with them. Be personal in each conversation by mentioning facts or aspects of their site you noticed and liked. While it may be difficult starting out, just remember that link building takes time. However, when executed effectively, it will pick up quickly because people looking to link build will spot your site on another site. They'll then contact you to link to yours.

Link Building - Why It's Important For Your Website

By Sameep Shah
For many people with Web sites, link building is an afterthought. Some people don't see the relevance to it because they think they can gain traffic other ways. Some people are turned off by link building because it is a time-consuming task. Whatever your reason is for not focusing on link building, forget it. Links can be an important asset to your site and your business, if your site happens to be business-related. It is a great way to gain traffic and attention to your site because it could it often brings in people who otherwise never would have found it on their own.

The main reason link building is important is because it generates traffic to your site. If you ever want your site to expand or at least pay for itself, you want traffic. Using keywords for searching purposes doesn't always guarantee you'll be at the top of search engines, which is where the majority of people click for sites. People don't want to scroll through pages of sites just to find yours. By linking your site to a similar-content site has the potential to double your traffic. Your site could be just what they were looking for, they just couldn't find it.

Link building doesn't mean that you have to spend all day every day looking for sites to which to link. It does mean you have to take your time though. Be picky about which sites you choose. Don't link to a site that has questionable content simply because they said you can link there. Make your links relevant to your existing viewers. They won't appreciate you linking them to troublesome sites. This might cause you to lose some viewers, which is the opposite goal of link building.

Even if you find just a few sites to which to link might be enough for a good start. Linking tends to have a volley tendency because there are so many people looking to link. They could find your link on a site and ask to link on yours. In return, you have found a new link site. None of this is possible, though, if you link to every site available. No one will want to link to yours if it has nothing to with their own. Rethink the importance of link building for your site. Even if you aren't looking to expand your site, it never hurts to have more viewers and contacts.

People join your e-mail newsletter or list to get information they think only you can provide them. They see you as a valuable resource in their quest for more knowledge on a particular topic. So, you are obligated to provide value in return for their e-mail address. In doing so, your list of subscribers will become more loyal and your relationship with them will benefit in many ways. Law Firm SEO - Linkation

By Michael Carabash
Links to your website have a significant impact on how your website ends up in search engines rankings for certain keywords. The more high quality links you have, the better. There are a number of ways you can build links to your website, include:

1. Reciprocal linking with other (hopefully relevant) websites;

2. Directory Submissions;

3. Article Submissions;

4. Press Releases; and

5. Social Media.

These techniques take a lot of time and effort.

Also worth mentioning are blogs. Blogs allow for easy linking (e.g. through comments and trackbacks). A trackback is an automatic system that notifies Blog Owner A that Blog Owner B has referenced one of Blog Owner A's blog post. The end result is that a link will be created in Blog Owner A's blog to Blog Owner B's blog.

Now, in the underground world of SEO, there are automated programs that build up links as quickly as possible. These programs work to build links on unsophisticated blogs where owners are not checking 'cloaked' trackbacks that are essentially spam. Doing so - particularly if you have a new domain name - could lead to search engines punishing you. I've read about something called the Google sandbox (although no one is really sure if it exists), which allegedly punishes your website for many many months if you build up too many links too quickly in an unnatural manner. It could also piss off a whole bunch of people if you are spamming their blogs with your trackbacks.

I actually came across an automated software (called Trackback Spider) for purchase which essentially creates links to your website by spamming other people's blogs through trackback. This method of increasing the number of links to your website is called "Blackhat" (which means bad, malicious, unethical, etc. means by which search engine optimizers try to improve their website's search engine rankings). This kind of software doesn't really help you in the long run because bloggers might complain to Google about your website, bloggers review the trackbacks before approving them, and old and abandoned blogs - with low quality content and traffic - may be all that's left for spammers wanting to build tracback links to their website. At the end of the day, tools like this are being more and more obsolete - and for good reason.

So what's recommended? Build your links naturally over time. Don't try to fool search engines. Create good quality content that has something relevant to offer when people are searching for your keywords. At the end of the day, patience and a good strategy are key. Continuing to tweak your website with high hopes that it will be thrust on p. 1 of Google in no time is not the reality; you need to accept the fact that if you have a new website, it will take quite a while before it ranks well in Google.

Why Do You Need Deep Link Building For Your Website?

By Pranjit Roy
Every online business has a website to sell its products and services. Each website is made up of a number of pages describing those services and products, apart from information about the business location, contact addresses etc. The most important among all these pages is the homepage, which opens when a visitor types the site's URL (Uniform Resource Locator) in the address bar of her/his browser and hits 'enter'. For example, entering yourdomain.com in your browser's address bar will launch the homepage of your business. Homepage is the first page, or the entry point, for any website, and is referred to by the top-level domain for that particular site.

Homepages are indeed special...

because homepage is the face of all businesses or organizations online, and it creates the vital first impression that decides whether or not an occasional visitor, or a prospective customer, would spend more time exploring your website. Search engines give highest importance to this particular page amongst all pages, and enlist the top-level domain or the homepage URL easily. Naturally, then, the homepage becomes the most visited page of every listed website. This is the reason you must have an informative, user-friendly, and impressive homepage, which also must have easy access to information about almost all products and services your business has to offer.

Homepage alone can't satisfy all business needs

There is no disputing that informative and attractive homepages create positive first impression, and persuade visitors (or potential clients) to spend more time on your site. But it is quite challenging to furnish easy access to full range of information of all products and/or services on the homepage itself. You can always try to add all the information in a single page, but that not only would make the page cluttered and confusing, but also large in terms of byte size, thus increasing the page load time over slow internet connection. And these are serious problems that would hurt your online business, by driving away visitors. Deep linking is the way out The only way out of this problem is to prepare individual pages specific to each product or service, and add those pages to your website. The next step is to properly link them up with your homepage by strong internal linking. These pages then become inner (or sub) pages of your homepage. This process helps keep all the important information about your organization available to the interested visitors, or prospective clients, when they come to your homepage.

Increasing importance (link popularity) of the inner pages

We netizens all know the importance of 'link popularity' for any webpage or URL. It is the volume of quality backlinks, also measured as "votes", that a particular website receives from other sites on the Internet. This is the single-most important factor in determining the "popularity" of your site, that is, the order in which your site shows up, relative to competing sites (offering similar products/services as yours), in the list that a search engine (such as Google) generates for keywords related to your product/service.

You can get backlinks in two ways that are approved by the search engines (for their evaluation purposes). One way is when other websites, which have content and/or theme that are similar to that in your targeted page, add the link of your page(s) on theirs (often referred as theme-based links). These are the valuable and useful, but also hard-to-get, backlinks for any webpage. Besides the fact that you have almost no control on this method, the similarities of content also create competition between your organization and the others, and so they would rather have visitors spend more time on their own sites than being diverted to yours.

The alternative way, which is much easier because it is in your complete control, is to use the quality, credible, and well-maintained web-directories that offer both free and fee-based services for generating backlinks. Most web-based directories available today offer backlinks to all inner pages of your site for a modest fee, whereas their free services are generally limited to backlinking only to your homepage, or the top-level domains.***

Such deeplink building services are offered by GrafixDirectory - a high-quality and well-maintained Free Web-Directory that provides free one-way links to your homepage, as well as backlinks to all of your inner pages at the cheapest rates available on the Internet.

Link Building With Squidoo and HubPages

By Anwar Alam
No link building campaign can be deemed as complete without the use of Squidoo Lens and HubPages Hubs. While there are lots of traditional approaches of building backlinks to your site, Squidoo and HubPages are top of the class social media sites that offer high quality contextual link building opportunity.

If you have been building backlinks for your site for some time, then you know that typical methods like directory submission, social bookmarking, blog commenting, link exchange, etc. are not helping you secure the top search engine spot you are targeting. While these methods still work to some extent and do get your SERP (search engine result pages) ranking up, they are just not enough for top ranking within a competitive niche.

Out of many social media sites these days, Squidoo and HubPages proved to offer the kind of contextual backlinks that Google seem to like a lot these days. Basically what you do to use these two social sites for your link building purpose is to join the sites for free and publish uniquely written articles covering the topics of your own site. Once you publish the articles with Squidoo and HubPages, you then need to promote those pages as well for search engine indexing. Within the articles, you can use the keywords as anchor texts to link back to your own site.

On Squidoo, each page built is called a lens. Once you sign up for a free account and login to your account, you will see your dashboard which you can navigate through to do what ever you want to do within Squidoo. If you are to build a lens for the first time, then you can just click on the link where it says "make a new lens" on the top left corner of your dashboard. One important piece information you need to know is that, you need to build a lens with at least 3 modules (basically 3 paragraphs under 3 different headers) for Squidoo to view your lens as complete and allow you to publish it. It is ideal that you write your article in an SEO friendly fashion dividing the article by multiple paragraphs before you start building your lens. Once the article is written, you can just copy each paragraph under one separate module. You also have the option to add images on your lens which will make the lens look lot more attractive.

Link building with Squidoo is easier than HubPages because Squidoo lenses offer you dofollow links to begin with where HubPages external links are nofollow to begin with. There is a way which allows you to get the external links to turn to dofollow however.

HubPages is pretty much same as Squidoo as it also offers you the opportunity to publish your article for backlinks. Pages and paragraphs on HubPages are called hubs and capsules compared to lenses and modules of Squidoo.

While link building with HubPages offers the same great benefit as Squidoo lenses, there is a little bit of extra work involved to make the hubs dofollow. Each hub account has a personal hub score which needs to be 75+ for the hubs under that hub account to be dofollow. It is not very hard to achieve 75+ personal hub score and all you have to do is to promote your hub to get some traffic and backlinks. More traffic and backlinks you will have, higher your individual hub score will be. Keep in mind to login to your hub account and edit your hubs once in a while which will also help. ***

----------------------------------------------------------
There are many other social media sites which you can use for link building purposes but HubPages and Squidoo are two sites that are being utilized most by advanced level SEO experts. There is no limit as to how many lenses or hubs you can build so you can just build one page after another one and use these 2 sites for unlimited backlink source.

Why 3 Way Linking is So Great!

By Greg Alexanders
When it comes to link building there are right ways to doing and wrong. If you know what you are doing then it can be an easy and powerful tool. If you are not aware of what to do then you could and probably are making mistakes.

This is bad because Google will penalize you if you are doing anything wrong when it comes to building links. This is why 3 way links have become so mainstream, and the only real way to go with link building. There are a lot link building networks out there, but most have no proof that their systems work. If they are making any mistakes then Google will be the first to know and more than happy to penalize these sites.

Two-way links no longer have much power because Google has changed its algorithms. It can now see when two sites are just linking together. By this Google can cancel them out or make them worth nearly nothing. You need to have a link system that takes care of this.

This is why 3 way links is so good. By using 3 way links you can link to one site. Then have that site link to another, and then lastly have that site link back to yours. This appears completely unique to Google. By this you gain the most benefits and can quickly move up in serps because these links will be very valuable to Google because the sites linking to yours are just linking to yours and your site isn't linking to them.

Link building can be tough, but due to the new 3 way linking system it has just got that much easier. There are no excuses why your site should not be getting more traffic and making more sales. You can learn more about 3 way links and a review in the author box.***

Building Links With Directories

By Kate Welder
One popular way to increase traffic to your website is through building links. The more links you have the more the search engine spiders and human visitors can find you, thus increasing traffic and profitability of your website. To gain a high
page rank (PR) you need a large number of inbound links pointing to your website. They are like a vote of popularity from other websites leading the search engines to your website. Best of all with a little bit of effort you can do it for free, by submitting your website to directories. There are paid directories available but if you are just starting out and on a small budget it is not necessary to pay for links.

One way to do this is submit your site to free directories. In addition to your listing many directories have you write a short description of your site to provide an anchor text with keywords related to your website. This is important to get your link noticed. Keep your description short and to the point using your most popular keywords. Search for high quality web directories that are human edited to submit your website to. Avoid free-for-all (FFA) or spam looking websites.

If you commit to adding your link to at least three directories a day you will soon have many links and you will see your popularity in the search engines soar. Adding links daily will help as it shows the search engines a more natural linking pattern as opposed to adding one hundred links in one day and then not adding any for several months.***

Link Building Services - Should You Hire Link Building Services Or Do it Yourself?

By: Daniel McGonagle
Link building services are the savvy website owners' friends and probably one of the most useful tools for making the sites they own profitable.

However, there are 2 different kinds of services that are the most common but there's only 1 kind that I recommend.

The 2 kinds of services available for you to use or hire are the companies that specialize in link building and the other kind is the membership sites that offer you the chance to tap into a highly leveraged network.

A company dedicated to doing just link building will do pretty much the same thing that a membership site will do. They will get you a variety of links from a variety of sources and send you some reports. Their goal is to build links for you and not necessarily to produce an influx of traffic.

Link Building membership sites such as LinkVana offer you the chance to tap into a system that is leveraged with sites that are just waiting to link back to you (for a fee of course). Another service is Backlink Solutions and it does the same thing as LinkVana plus it offers a more well-rounded approach because it offers you social bookmarking links as well.

However, those 2 membership site services are more geared towards helping you attain high rankings, but the sites that are linking to you will not send any relevant traffic your way.

That's why there are services like My Article Network and Unique Article Wizard that promise to build you backlinks via article marketing syndication. With article marketing syndication as a link building strategy, you will get both of the things you'd hope to get from a link building service; backlinks and manual targeted traffic. Whatever Backlink Solutions you use really depends on your business model, too.***
