Karena Lam Gives Birth to 6lb Baby Girl


Congratulations! Congratulations! 32 year old Karena Lam just became a mother last week in Vancouver, Canada where she gave birth to a baby girl. She did not give birth to twins like the rumors say, both mother and daughter are safe. The baby girl was 6 pounds and 8 ounces.

Her English name is Karena, so her daughter's English also starts with a K, named Kayla. Karena and her husband carried baby Kayla and accepted an interview by [Mingpao Weekly]. They revealed that when she was in labor, her baby's heartbeat dropped rapidly, making it was a frightening process. When she sees her daughter now, it's hard to describe her happiness, just having her daughter is everything, she will temporarily say goodbye to the entertainment circle and focus on giving care to her daughter.

Mid-September, Karena was accused of falling in love with a married man, Steve Yuen, who is an advertising director. It was also said that she's pregnant before marriage, and spend her pregnancy in Canada. Have always kept a low-profile, Karena did not respond to the rumors, but actually after the rumors went out, Steve couldn't let people accuse his wife, so he took the initiative to send 2 wedding photos to the media on June 13th. He also said that he and his ex-wife separated in 2006, and that he met Karena in 2008 when they were working on an advertisement together. Later they began dating, Karena was not the "third person". The couple decided to get married in March this year that they'll be getting married June 2010. Karena coincidentally was pregnant, which made it double happiness, she was expected to due in November.

Baby Kayla came into this world early, is 6 pounds and 8 ounces. Though Karena loves filming movies, but Karena's god-mother (Poon Tok Wah) reveals that Karena once said that she has to educate herself on being a caregiver to a child, so she wants to focus entirely on her daughter. Also, she loves children and hopes to have another one, so she is willing to give up on her career and temporarily say goodbye to the entertainment circle.
