Sheren Tang is Happy & Single on Valentine's Day

Sheren Tang was the guest for Louisa So's food show "Kitchen Diva Louisa" yesterday. Cooking Valentine's meals on the show, her episode will be aired on Valentine's Day. Host Louisa believes you do not have to be with someone on Valentine's Day. She is sending the message that you can still be happy without a valentine; women nowadays are smart and financially independent.

Sheren joked has become the spokesperson for happy single ladies. After she portrayed Gau Goo Leung in "No Regrets," she has more criteria for a partner; but she is very happy that she can find her soul mate in the drama world. Talked about her cooking, Sheren said she started helping her family to cook when she was at 4th grade. Perhaps bad memories during childhood, now she does not really like to cook; but would show off her skills when she dines with friends.

Sheren Tang Wishes to be Loved

Although Sheren Tang excels in having a great career, but that does not apply to her love life. The tough "Gau Goo Leung" yells at bad men often on TV, but in real life, she is just like any other women; she just wants to be loved.

"Wining this award twice in the row, not filming any new series yet, next year's TV Queen shouldn't be me! I know Charmaine Sheh are filming some good projects. I think she's going to win it next year! In my opinion, she's a very hardworking actress. She's good at memorizing scripts, this is a rare skill. Filming 'Can't Buy Me Love' isn't easy. When veteran actor Dik Lung forgets to present the "Best Actress" award to her at this year's TVB Anniversary Awards , Sheren says gently: "You haven't give the award to me!". This is the real Sheren, not the tough women you often see her playing in TV dramas. When it comes to love, the two-time TV Queen winner is not as strong as we thought she is. After studying the Enneagram of Personality for many years, Sheren knows she has a different personality than her role in "No Regrets": "Gau Goo Leung is the nine*. She controls everything and she is tough. But Sheren Tang is an aligator on the outside but not inside. She just wants to be loved. She wants her man to be responsible and decide everything for her. But in this Asian society, it's hard for her to find her Mr. Right. She is a four!"

Unfortunately, Sheren always meets the wrong person at a wrong time. The point is, the person who is wrong is actually herself: "Never met the right one, never! I'm wrong with the definition of love. But I never regret. Fortunately I encounter the decision of getting married only once, and I chose not to marry. I know we would definitely get a divorce. I only need the feeling of worrying and missing you in the past. Once I don't have this feeling anymore, I would leave immediately. I don't know how to be inclusive, this is even worst! Now my views on love is back to normal. Love is a lasting gift. Hope it's not too late for Sheren Tang to know this!" What if she is late? There are 7 million people in Hong Kong and there are many men who like to pretend they are tough ones. None received trust from Sheren; none can make her feel safe.

Sheren says: "In Hong Kong, many men would say they love you, can take care of you, and they tell you you don't need to work. In fact, they never know what do women want. When they're dating me, once they're being followed by papparazi, they will leave me, and don't know how to understand my occupation. I got to know a Jewish man 10 years ago and we dated for a while. He didn't have a big reaction when he knows I'm an actress, but instead brought me to pedestrian streets to shop and let me know how to enjoy life. Too bad we didn't stay together because of our religion, but I will remember this forever."

Willing to be loved but has an independent personality, Sheren is someone with double personalities and that troubles her in making decisions at work. Everyone knows TVB wants to sign her as one of its "biological children," but it is not an easy task: "Miss Lok [Virginia Lok] knows I have a good relationship with Helen [her current manager] and there is no reason to break it. So it [signing long term contract] never happened. But TVB raised me, I think it will give me freedom, like Charmaine, she won't do everything."

As for exchanging awards with contracts, Sheren laughs and says: "I actually think winning this award again will make me be responsible for more matters. There's no free lunch. I was a pearl left in the depths of the sea [talent left unrecognized] once, I played supporting roles once. Having an achievement like now, besides thanking God, also must cherish!"

True, there are many "unrecognized pearls" being rediscovered and Sheren predicts Power Chan is the next Evergreen Mak; he should earn a bigger applause from the audience. Besides wishing to be loved, Sheren also likes to appreciate and share the love.

Wayne Lai Says No to 'Rosy Business 3'

 
TVB's "Rosy Business" and its second installment "No Regrets" received high ratings and good feedback. Although "No Regrets" lost "Best Series" in the TVB Anniversary Awards 2010, but it plans to have a third installment. However, lead Wayne Lai does not agree on it: "I think we should quit while we're ahead. I don't agree on filming a third installment."

It is known producer of these two series Lee Tim Sing once thought of filming three installments: one with a Qing Dynasty background, second with an early republic, then the last with a modern day setting; however, it would be even harder to handle a modern drama.

A celebration dinner was held last night for "No Regrets" and actors (Wayne Lai, Sheren Tang, Raymond Wong, Evergreen Mak, Nancy Wu, etc) and behind-the-scene staff all attended. High executives included Stephen Chan, Catherine Tsang, and Virginia Lok also attended as well. Virginia said she did not dare to discuss contracts with Wayne and Sheren Tang before the award ceremony to avoid being said they exchange awards by signing long-term contracts; now she hopes to invite them to join with "silver bullets" (lots of money) and sincerity, but she noted: "Sheren has a good relationship with her manager Helen, and Helen is also my good friend. Unless Helen retired and she hands over Sheren to me. As for Wayne, his manager is his wife. Their contract is forever."

Sheren expressed she is a little touched when she heard Virginia said will persuade her with money. She said: "I only film series for TVB now, but I don't want to be trapped. Gau Goo Leung has lots of money!" She expressed she will regard TVB first when thinking about signing long-term contracts.

Wayne Lai & Sheren Tang Might Win TV King & Queen Again

TVB's 2010 Anniversary Awards is this Sunday and everyone has been discussing who will be this year's TV King and Queen. Audience voting ended on November 28 and all the votes have been calculated. The "professionals"---heads of 6 TVB department including Virginia Lok, Ho Lai Chun, Tommy Leung, and Catherine Tsang---finally voted yesterday and their votes count as 50% of the voting (20% producers, 30% audience).

According to reliable sources, most of these 6 people voted last year's TV King and Queen Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang. As for audience voting, the top 5 nominations for TV King are (random order): Raymond Lam, Steven Ma, Wayne Lai, Felix Wong, and Moses Chan; top 5 nominations for TV Queen are (random order): Charmaine Sheh, Sheren Tang, Linda Chung, Tavia Yeung, and Jessica Hsuan.

However, there could be still changes. Although Wayne's series "No Regrets" just ended last week with high ratings, but Moses' biggest advantage is that he is TVB's "biological son." His only disadvantage is that his "Can't Buy Me Love" ended a while ago and audience might have forgotten his performance.

Sheren Tang: 'Write Cheng Gau Mui's Name Backwards!'

TVB held a joint promotion event for series "Some Day" and "No Regrets" last night in TV city, promoting the ending of both series. Actors from both series Sheren Tang, Wayne Lai, Fala Chen, Teresa Mo, Wong He, King Kong, Johnson Lee, Louise Lee, etc attended to the big event. TVB also arranged 500 viewers to watch the finale with these actors.

"No Regrets" actors all hope ratings of their series can break Korean drama "Dae Jang Geum"s (50 points).  Sheren, who plays Cheng Gau Mui in the series, even expressed to write her character's name backward if it cannot break the record: "Hope 'No Regrets' can break 'Dae Jang Geum's record. If not, write Cheng Gau Mui's name backwards!"

Sheren's partner Wayne Lai, who plays Lau Sing, also said to write Lau Sing's name backward if rating did not break the record: "Tonight it's all over. You can write anything backwards the way you like. I'll do that with Lau Sing's name, too!"


Talking about the Anniversary Awards, it is said TVB is promoting "No Regrets" to win awards at the awards ceremony, Sheren joked: "Not bad. I need to ask Dong Tai's 3000 followers to do that, too!" Asked whether she greets high executives in TVB, trying to persuade them vote for her, she said: "I said hi to Stephen Chan, haven't seen him for a long time." Wayne Lai & Sheren Tang Hopes 'No Regrets' Can Beat 'Dae Jang Geum'

Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang accepted a radio interview by RTHK to promote for the finale of their series "No Regrets." Although average ratings of "No Regrets" is not as high as Charmaine Sheh and Moses Chan's "Can't Buy Me Love," but Wayne still hopes the series' highest rating can beat rating of Korean drama "Dae Jang Geum," he said: "Can't let it have the record of highest rating. Hope everyone can support local productions."

Sheren expressed she watched Wong Cho Lam's kuso remake of "No Regrets" and she said: "He is not defaming me. I absolutely don't mind about it. He made it so funny and his expressions are like my character's. If I don't have time to film series, he can replace me." Sheren expressed she is attending to this year's anniversary awards ceremony. Asked whether it is because she is notified that she is the winner of TV Queen, she and Wayne both said they do not know the final result until the last minute.

Earlier Felix Wong accused TVB did not promote series "Gun Metal Grey" enough, Wayne said he does not know about any inside story but hopes everyone can understand TVB's variety department, which is in charged of the anniversary show. He said: "The idea for the anniversary is fun and gimmick. It's hard to look over to every series."

Sheren expressed "No Regrets" and "Gun Metal Grey" both only held two promotion events. It is just Wayne attended more individual events that caused the misunderstanding that "No Regrets" received more promotions. TVB Anniversary Feature: Sheren Tang

Graduated from TVB's 1984 acting class, Sheren Tang (鄧萃雯) is already the lead in her first series. Her youthful girl roles captured the audience's attention immediately.

Several years later, she left Hong Kong to attend an interior design program, and thought of quitting the showbiz.

Then she joined ATV when she came back, and filmed several notable series such as I Have a Date With Spring.

Several years later, she returned to TVB.

Sheren Tang Disappointed At 'No Regrets' Ratings

Second week ratings of anniversary series "No Regrets" stayed the same like last week, with average 31 points, peaking 34 points. Female lead Sheren Tang accepted an interview by Char Siu Yan yesterday and was asked whether she is disappointed at ratings of her series did not match with "Can't Buy Me Love," Sheren said, "There is a little. But I think good ratings does not represent high quality; it relies on the right time and right place. Ratings of 'War and Beauty' was not super high, but everyone talked about it all the time."

Asked about Wayne Lai competing TV King with Moses Chan, Sheren expressed Moses is her favorite actor and she wants to collaborate with him. But she has not watched "Can't Buy Me Love," so it is hard to judge. As for Evergreen Mak and Pierre Ngo competing "Best Supporting Actor," she believed the series just started and the two have a long way to go. She expressed she has not decided which series to film for next year. She really wants to film comedies, but if she were to play an arguing role, she is not as good as Teresa Mo and Har Pin.

Because "9 Goo Leung" is popular, a magazine posted Sheren's old sexy photos in the past. Sheren said, "This environmental? Old photos can be used as the cover." 'No Regrets' Debuts With Average Rating 32 Pts Only

One of the most anticipating TVB series of the year "No Regrets" is finally on air. It was premiered last night after the anniversary lightning ceremony. Everyone has high expectations on the premier and lead Wayne Lai even expects average rating of the premier would be 38 points. However, the result is only 32 points, peaking 36 points, but it's already better than the series' first installment "Rosy Business" last year, which received average rating of 27 points from the premier.

But the cast is not discouraged and hopes ratings in upcoming episodes would go up. "Many people said they couldn't get home on time to watch it. I believe ratings would be better if it was to air after 9PM," Wayne said at the dinner party held by actors from the series. As one of the favorites for the anniversary award "Most Improved Actor," Raymond Wong isn't too satisfied with last night's average ratings. "It could be better, but I'm confident in upcoming episodes," he said. "I won't let producer Lee Tim Sing to clean cow dung!"

In addition, netizens love to look for bloopers while they watch series, and they already dig out some. "No Regrets" sets the 1930s Guangzhou as its story setting. All actors are very confident in the series. This is another great work from producer Lee Tim Sing and he promised if the series didn't receive good ratings, he would go to countryside to clean cow dung! Wayne and Fala also said they would help producer Lee to clean cow dung by then. Sheren joked she would use the cow dung they collected to open an organic farm.

Asked Wayne whether he's confident ratings of "No Regrets" can break Korean drama aired on TVB several years ago "Dae Jang Geum," he expressed even without counting online viewers, he is confident in breaking the record (50 points). He hopes the premier episode can have a rating of 38 points.
