So you know that blogging is an incredibly awesome way to get started with your home based internet marketing business. Blogs are easy to set up. Blogs get you traffic fast. That all sounds great. So, you're writing posts in your blog every day and you're, you know, doing all the right things. But, it's not always easy to get people to find your blog. How is it that? You know, people say blogs are great for search engines...but how do search engines actually come and find your posts?

Look, I'll be the first to tell you, I'm no technical genius when it comes to blogs...but I can tell you the basics. And, the basics work really well for us!

First, for people who aren't familiar with blogs, let's just clarify that a little bit. Blog is short for Web...as in internet...log file. Web log. Blog. But what a blog is really is...well, it is like an online diary. When you write in this journal, or blog, it is called making a post.

So back to how the search engines find your blog!

When you make a post, you are adding content to the internet. It can be written posts...audio...video, whatever. When you post that content you then have to get the word out...essentially you need to let the various search engines know that there's something they should go and take a look at.

So what you do after you post is something called pinging. What's pretty cool, if your blog is on WordPress...which is where we recommend you blog...they ping automatically for you, to a variety of different directories that ultimately connect to the search engines.

Pinging is like waving a big red flag so the search engines see you! It basically just says, "Hey, search engines, you know, here's some cool stuff you should be paying attention to."

There are blogging services out there besides WordPress, and not all of them will auto-ping...so you can ping your blog yourself. Pingoat and Ping-O-Matic are two great pinging services...they ping multiple sites all at once. Or you can go and ping sites manually...that seems like a lot of work to me, but it is an option.

Using Ping-O-Matic and Pingoat is really easy...and they are totally free. I mean, it's literally, you go to the site, type in your blog name, the URL and if you have a RSS URL you type that in as well. You then select the sites you want to ping, click "send pings" or something similar and you are off and running!

So what I'm suggesting you do for your home based internet marketing businesses is go get a blog, start blogging and every time you make a post be sure to ping. Wave that big red flag so the search engines see you and you will be amazed at how quickly you start to get traffic to your new blog!

Blogging is becoming a preferred method of making money from the internet. It is, put very simply, a platform that allows you to update your site easily, without having to mess around with FTP or Cpanel or similar programs.

The search engines favour sites that are updated regularly, and often, as they are considered to have more relevant information than a static site. It is good to have your site favoured by the search engines because more searchers (potential customers) are directed to your site.

Twitter is a form of blogging, which only allows postings of 140 characters, or less. A post is called a tweet. It has become very popular as a social tool. Many celebrities are using it to show their popularity and probably as a free form of advertising.

As Twitter increases in popularity, more and more people are joining. It is free to join and they don't mind you advertising your business or site. They do have some rules, mostly to do with fair use and not doing anything to damage the site, but their rules are very fair.

To get the most out of your Twitter account you would use it to advertise your blog site. The best method is to use a teaser. You partially describe what you're selling, giving the audience good reason to want to know more. You then direct them to your blog site for the full story. You have to be pretty inventive as you only have 140 characters to use for each tweet. It's almost like writing an AdSense ad.

Some advertisers give away a free gift or enter you into their competition for retweeting their message. Retweeting a message just means that you are passing it on to anyone who looks at your twitter page, or subscribes to your tweets. This is incredibly effective as it quickly is spread to many people. This is called 'going viral'.

Using Twitter with your blog is an incredibly effective advertising method and the best thing is that it is free.

3.) Traffic - visitors or people who open your blog
4.) Index - Search Engines. If your blog is found when one is searching then it means you have been indexed. Sample of Search Engines: Google, Yahoo, MSNKeywords - Topic being emphasis in a blog
4.) Page Rank - Position of your blog when you have been indexed-1st or 2nd page...1st page means your blog is at high level which means more traffic.
Backlinks - links placed on other websites, blogs or forums that connect people to your website.
5.) Vlog - on line video log

Let me give a simple explanation for each.

1.) Niche - You need to choose Niches that will give you more traffic and sell products on line. Think of a topic that is most frequently being search on the net. This will give you higher probability of more traffic.
2.) Blog - You need to write articles to get more traffic. You can also use your other articles to backlink with each others. It is recommended however, to use original articles to get higher Page Rank.
3.) Index - Your blog needs to be indexed so that Internet surfers will find your site.
4.) Keywords - You need to have a Keyword when writing a blog so that search Engines may know what your article is all about. Search engines uses programs to identify the content of your blog. It is therefore recommended to repeat your keyword - for every 500 word. However, don't overdo it for it might is tag as Spam.
5.) Page Rank - Your blog should have high Page Rank. Most of the internet surfers read only the first page then leave so it is of high importance that you rank high.

2.) How to earn money blogging.

Your blog will serve as the channel to earn money. As you have seen many blogs on the net there are many advertisement around it. If your visitors will click this advertisements while visiting your site then you get commission for it.

You can set up a blog for free. Google will provide advertisements for your blog for free. You will earn an immediate commission from Google each time someone clicks an advertisement on your blog.

One thing to remember is most people don't want to read an article that is so long and involved, it seems like work to the reader.

It goes without saying, make your articles as interesting as you can, while at the same time getting your message across, and providing your reader information that will benefit him or her in some way.

To make sure your articles are read and enjoyed by your readers/potential customers, here are some tips to be sure it happens every time:

Write in shorter paragraphs. Longer paragraphs may seem too complicated and time consuming to a reader that's in a hurry.

Use numbering or better yet, bullets. This layout will help your reader retain what they are reading and sometimes bullets give the information you are conveying "more impact".

Use sub-headers to break up your paragraphs. Usually these sub-headers will be in bold print.

Make the title and sub-headers of your article as attention grabbing and interesting as possible. This will keep your reader going all the way to the end of your article. An example of an attention grabbing title would be "How to Improve Your Love Life Now".

If you are good at telling stories, you can tell a story that happened in your experience as it relates to your blog theme. Make this story enjoyable and a pleasure for your reader, but don't make it any longer than it needs to be.

If you include facts or statistics in your articles, do your homework and be sure they are accurate. Credibility is important to the success of your profit blog.

The goal of your profit blog is to make money and in order to accomplish that goal, you always want to make your blog as interesting and engaging as you can. The accepted standard on the number of visits a reader/customer will make to your blog is 4 to 7 times before they will actually make a purchase, so you want to keep them coming back.

Top Internet Marketing Strategies on Blogging

There are a lot of different theories and strategies about blogging...how many blogs you should have, if they should be linked together, how often should you blog, what you can and can't do with a blog...even where you should blog. Some of these strategies work...hey, maybe they all do...but I teach you how to start from the beginning and make money online fast. So let's look at my top internet marketing strategies regarding blogging.

How many blogs should you have?

In my opinion, when you're just starting, you should have one list and one blog. Focus your attention there. Write to your list by posting to your blog every day.

Some people will tell you to have multiple blogs...if you do that you are multiplying the amount of work you have to do every day. So, start with one.

Interconnecting your blogs

The people who say you should have lots of blogs...I've even heard people say you should have 25...they are typically also telling you all these blogs need to be interconnected...networked together. And of course, in a special and very specific way.

Stick with one blog...it is that simple...no fancy interconnecting required. You can link your blog to another website but keep it simple!

Blogs for list building

This is a pet peeve...when I hear people say you can't use a blog for list building. Well, that is just down-right wrong!

You can use your blog for list building in a variety of ways. You can:

* Have an opt-in box on your blog
* Use a Pop-up on your blog
* Link from your blog to your squeeze page

The whole purpose and point of having a blog is that it is a traffic magnet if you use it properly...take advantage of that traffic and start building your list.

Blog content

A lot of the rules of emails apply to blogging. If your blog posts are boring, you're probably not going to get a lot of repeat readers. If your blog posts are interesting, intriguing and engaging, you probably will get a lot of repeat readers.

Where to blog

If you are going to blog, which I highly recommend you do, then...if it is going to be for any kind of commercial purpose, meaning you want to make money from it...then I suggest you use WordPress as your blogging platform. Based on the policies of various blogging platforms out there...at least today...WordPress is really the best. And so you have complete control over your blog and the content, you will want to host your blog yourself.

I highly recommend to everyone that you incorporate blogging into your internet marketing strategies. Start posting to your blog every day...but keep it sane by only having one blog...at least for now! Use your blog for list building...either by having an opt-in on your blog or driving your blog traffic to a squeeze page. And when you post-be interesting so you people are willing to opt-in and come back to read more! That's how you can make good money blogging and be list building at the same time.

I know that thinking about what you're doing in this way is a little difficult. Even if you feel you're not doing it "right", just write down your impressions. You can't be right or wrong, and you can change your mind at any time. But thinking about your blog in this way builds very productive habits which will stand you in good stead for the length of your freelance writing career.

Thinking about you audience also helps you to build your enthusiasm. Although hundreds of thousands of blogs are created every day, most of those blogs die on the vine. This is because they were started in haste, without any thought, so they don't have any real foundation. As with all writing, blogging is a voyage of discovery. You will learn new things about yourself and your writing with every blog post you create. Don't spend too much time thinking about blogging, just write a post, and publish it. Before you create your blog site, it's necessary that you identify your purpose. Ask yourself why you want to set up a blog? Is it to make money; to promote your website or business; to encourage or inform other people; or just to express yourself? Whatever it is, make sure that you like doing it because if you don't you'll surely won't have the strength to keep going.

In preparing your budget, you also have to consider your purpose. It's true that you can immediately start blogging without having to spend a single cent. But you also have to remember that it's not impossible to happen that you might want to upgrade your blog site to keep up with your blogging needs. Time may come when your blogging needs become more complex that you might want to install new software in order to keep up with the changes in online technology.

This is especially true if your purpose is to make money online by blogging. Like any blogger, you surely want to have a successful blog. So why don't you make a plan? You may include anything in your plan which you deem best, but make sure that these three things are present. You don't hold the future, but it won't be a surprise if you're prepared, right?***

Blogging has sure come a long way from its humble beginnings in 1994. Heck, the word blog didn't even exist until 1999. And while the first blogs were simply public, online diaries, these days blogging platforms have become extremely powerful content management systems.

There are many advantages to blogs over custom coding your own website that will make you want to seriously consider making your next website a blog.

Advantages of a Blog

1) Interactivity

The biggest advantage of a blog is that it's interactive. That's what this whole "web 2.0" movement is all about anyway, and blogs have been a big part of that. When you make a blog post, other people can comment on what you've written and add to, ask a question, or give a different point of view from what you've written.

It's a great way to keep your pulse on your target market. And while it shouldn't be your primary concern, the fact that other people can comment on your posts means that your content gets updated and enhanced without you needing to do any work. And frequently updated content is something the search engines loves (just look at Wikipedia).

2) Easy to manage

Another thing I've really come to love about blogging is how easy it is to make changes. I don't need to open up an html editor, download the page, and then reupload the page just to make a simple change.

I remember avoiding updating websites for months at a time because I knew I had to make global changes which meant I'd have to go in to each page individually and update it.

With a blog, everything is done from a central control panel. You don't need anything more than an Internet connection to get into your blog and update a page. It's especially great if you're new to having a website, but even experienced webmasters can appreciate its simplicity and ease of use.

3) Organization

Through the use of categories, tags, and pages, it's very easy to organize your blog into a website that is extremely user friendly. And what if you have a topic that belongs in multiple categories, just check a box and put it into as many categories as you think are appropriate.

Also, just about all blogging software these days comes with built in search functionality which is great for your users if they're looking for a blog post but can't remember when you posted it or what the title was.

4) Plugins

One of my favorite features of blogs is plugins. These are little programs that are designed to enhance the functionality of your blog. For example, there are plugins that can automatically pick a few related blog posts you've written and put that at the end. There are plugins make it easy for people to "tweet" or "digg" your most recent post.

Just about anything you want to to with a blog can probably be easily added with a plugin if you can't already do it.***
