Increase Blog Traffic - Comment on a Blog For Maximum Effect

By: Keith Goodrum
Blog commenting is a tried-and-true way to increase traffic to your blog and possibly gain back links. Imagine, surfing the net, reading your favorite blogs, giving your opinion and gaining traffic. It's like being rewarded for goofing off.

Many bloggers have used this strategy to increase readers and subscribers to their blogs. In fact, some bloggers have used this method as their primary way to find targeted traffic. It makes sense because usually you are commenting on blogs from the same niche as yours.

Now, Not every blog will gain you a back link

WordPress has set as default to "no follow". That means a link in the comments section of a post will be ignored by Google. The comment will not gain the search engine juice that a link in the other part of the blog will benefit from. However, there are a lot of blogs out there that have disabled "no follow" settings by using a plug-in like "do follow".

Does this mean that you should only comment on blogs that it had a to have the "no follow" turned off? No, because you will still gain traffic from any comments that you leave on these blogs. Leave a comment which other people reading like & they will click on your link to see what else you have to say.

It's important to add to the conversation

You are looking to expand on the post with information not already included. Or, you should try to add to the conversation already going on within the blog.

Leave a lame comment and don't be surprised if it gets deleted or not even approved. Avoid writing comments such as "I agree." "Good Info.", or "Thanks". I would also not recommend leaving affiliate links in your comments. Some blog owners will look at it as an attempt to gain a cheap back link or spamming.***
